I am sure you would agree that going to Unity North is a unique experience. There is a feeling of community that is very real and very supportive. I am more comfortable with many of my friends at North then I am with some of my family members. Judging from the extended time people spend after services, absorbing each others energy, this must be true for many of you. You might notice, however, that there are a few people who are not as comfortable with the group socializing. They might be reluctant to start a conversation because they aren't sure of peoples names or if they will be welcomed into a group where everyone is familiar to each other but strangers to them. Usually these folks are new to the community and are looking for a way to become part of the fun without taking too big of a risk.
I have a solution to this problem that served us well when we were first introduced to Unity ideas several years back at Unity in Golden Valley. We started going to classes! We attended ongoing classes on Unity principles and metaphysical tools. We went to all day seminars presented by guest instructors that were sponsored by the Wholeness committee. Not only did we discover a wealth of spiritual food from the classes, we connected with other class members. When Sunday service time rolled around, we knew many of the members of the community by name and felt comfortable going up and talking with them. We truly were part of the group!
Another side benefit was that it provided a way for us to practice the principles of prosperity. We were able to give some money to a source of spiritual food and support the Unity community in an easy and fun way.
Don and I will never regret our involvement in Adult Education and Wholeness programs. It has started a path for us that has brought us many rewards. So I offer this recommendation: when you hear classes announced on Sunday or read about them in the Light, really consider the far reaching benefits. You receive spiritual food, an outlet for your prosperity flow, and a new connection to a very supportive community. I can't think of anything else that is so easy to do and provides so many rewards!
Blessings and Peace,
