The Hilltop Heart

Reflections of a Practical Mystic

James Dillet Freeman

the hilltop heart

From the publisher:

"What is this world?"
"What are you?"
"What brought the world into being? Is it a vast machine? Is it an accident?"
"Has the world always been here? Or did something make it - or Somebody?"

Have you never asked such questions?"

Questions and answers are the core of The Hilltop Heart: Reflections of a Practical Mystic. James Dillet Freeman plants the seeds of inquiry and contemplation, and waters and feeds them with his sage observations and ideas. What about answers? "Look for them," he says. "Go to the window and look." He believes we will see that "one rainy, windy day is not all there is to spring."

This book does not look at the world through rose-colored glasses, but reveals a rose-colored world; it uplifts by helping the reader to a higher perspective, from which life can be seen for what it truly is -"a wonder and a mystery, the spilling-over, ever-flowing joying of an unspeakable power!"

James Dillet Freeman has been an important force in the Unity movement for over fifty years. He has served as Unity School of Christianity's director of Silent Unity and as first vice-president of the board of trustees, and is the school's current poet laureate. The Hilltop Heart is one of twelve books written by Mr. Freeman. He and his wife, Billie, reside in Lee's Summit, Missouri.
